Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge invites you for a free bird tour on
Saturday, June 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Meet your guide, Doug Stucki, at
the Blue Hill Trail parking area, along CR 9 - just west of refuge headquarters.

Depending on weather and interest of participants, the tour will include a hike
on Blue Hill Trail, possibly Mahnomen Trail, and a driving loop around the
Prairie's Edge Wildlife Drive.

We still have a few migrant warblers and flycatchers trickling through as of
today; I had Blackburnian, bay-breasted, Wilson's, golden-winged, magnolia,
palm, chestnut-sided, and lots of blackpoll, yellow and Tennessee.  Both alder
and willow flycatchers were calling.  We've had Henslow's sparrow reports from
both the beginning of the Blue Hill Trail and near the beginning of the Prairie
Trail that's on the wildlife drive.  The common gallinules have been seen and
heard recently.

Pre-registration for the tour is requested, but not mandatory.  Email:
sherbu...@fws.gov or call Betsy Beneke at 763.389.3323 ext. 13 to register.
