Once on a trip to NW Mexico, we saw a bird on telephone lines near a home right on the road at the lower end of a smallish tree-covered mountain. (There were lots of jays and thrush and other birds around.)
It was a small bird, near the home, and no one paid much attention to it. BUT...as we neared it, it came into song and plain view as an Olive Warbler. After all the tree-top searching for them--here was one on a wire! acting like a House Sparrow. Birds amaze--always.
