After striking out with migrant shorebirds at the Jirik Sod Farms, Claudia
Egelhoff and I headed over to the 180th St. marsh this morning. While enjoying
all the baby Pied-billed Grebes and Coots, we heard from afar a(n) Eurasian
Collared-Dove. Without much trouble, we were able to locate it atop one of the
silos at the farm just west of the marsh (the west side of Fischer Ave.). It
flew back and forth between the silo and the clump of mature trees just to the
north.
