This afternoon I was surprised to see an American White Pelican resting along the shore of a marsh in Nicollet county (the marsh is frozen over). The bird was on the east side of the road. This was on 541st Ave, 1.7 miles north of Courtland. I have to believe that it's sick or injured. I wouldn't think it's chances are very good with the winter storm coming tonight.
