At least one of the Short-eared Owls reported by Bryan was still present at Carlos Avery WMA last evening (4/21); hunting near Pool 4 at 8:25. Another flew through my headlights near Pool 2 at 8:40, this could possibly have been the same bird. They were sticking close to the ground in the windy conditions. American Woodcock were displaying in several locations.
