For the second consecutive year, we have baby Green Herons on the pond here at the Stivland ranch in scenic Plymouth. This year, it appears dad stuck around to help as we have four herons – two fuzzy headed guys and two adults.
A bonus this year – the neighbor kids are also enjoying the young herons and their antics. We watched as one heron grabbed a frog and flogged it to death before swallowing it. Now the 9 year old is lobbying for her own pair of binoculars.
