Hi all,
Twenty-three folks got a long lingering look at a very cooperative GREAT GRAY
OWL along McDavitt at about 8:15 am. He/she was hunting from an old Tamarack
snag on the west side for nearly a half hour. This is a resident bird that
nests in the area...No sign of any Great Grays moving south from Canada yet.
This was a grand lifer for a few folks. The photographers in the group also got
some fantastic shots.

Also...
Flock of about 90 Snow Buntings (Admiral Rd gravel pit)
Hawk migration....Sharp-shinned, Red-tailed, several Bald Eagles
Migrating swans including 2 Trumpeters on Stone Lake
Gray Jay family along McDavitt
Rough-legged Hawk at south end of Admiral
2 Ruffed Grouse on wooded curve on Stone Lk Road
Lots of Pine Siskins
Several flocks of migrating Rusty Blackbirds
American Tree Sparrows, Juncos,
Fox Sparrows at Welcome Center
Purple Finches
