Bob Anderson of Raptor Resource Center describes GHOW attack on BAEA at Decorah
nest-cam nest. Altho the incident happened in the last week or so, the
accompanying video is from 02-25-14 and only shows a clip of an eagle
displacing the owl from the nest. There are 3 night videos of the nest. In
one an owl strikes an incubating eagle on the back. The eagle makes
vocalizations I have not heard before--- low, guttural. S/he appears
frightened and keeps its head down for a long time. It's a long video but you
can drag the cursor to advance it.
GHOWs seem to compete with BAEA for the eagle nest in winter.

300 M people have viewed the Decorah eagle camera site.
