These jays are evolving into two biological populations on the same island,
in oak and pine habitats. More evidence of the start of sympatric
speciation in birds, without "geographical" isolation. There is a link near
the bottom to a UCBerkeley site with index of different modes of
geographic-based ("-patric") speciation.

John Fitzpatrick, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, is quoted about this study
conducted by Katie Langin.
