In response to my msg to MOU with the USGS site for alpha codes for N American birds, Janet Green directed me to the Inst for Bird Populations website. The lists they publish and update include all birds from North and Central America, and the Caribbean. So there are many more species here than on the USGS list. For you of Latin persuasion, the 6-letter codes are for Genus/Species names. You can select a table according to Common name, Scientific name, or Taxonomy.
Thank you Janet Green.
