Saw 64 species this weekend, most of them at Forestville-Mystery Cave State 
Park, Fillmore County. New or recently arrived migrants included the following: 

5/2 - Broad-winged Hawk, Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Barn Swallow, House 
Wren, Winter Wren, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Brown Thrasher, Black-and-white 
Warbler, Eastern Towhee, and Field Sparrow, as well as a Pine Sisken. 

5/3 - Yellow-throated Vireo, Warbling Vireo, Wood Thrush, Gray Catbird, 
Blue-winged Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Ovenbird, 1 unidentified waterthrush along 
Canfield Creek where Louisiana Waterthrushes are known to occur in spring and 
summer, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Baltimore Oriole, as well as at least one Pine 
Sisken. 

Also heard House Finch singing both days (this species is not on the state park 
checklist from 2004). 

On 5/3, Chimney Swifts had returned to 41st and Harriet in South Minneapolis.
