In my yard in East Grand Forks on Friday, I had a first-of-season Wilson’s
Warbler, also a Tennessee Warbler. Today, the first fledgling goldfinches.

Yesterday I stopped at the East Grand Forks sewage ponds. There are now many
young Eared Grebes, ranging from medium-sized to itty bitty. There are also a
number of adults still sitting on nests. There were a dozen or so Red-necked
Phalaropes.

Today at the Agassiz Valley impoundment southeast of Warren, shorebirds that
were close enough to ID included Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer, Spotted
Sandpiper, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Stilt Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper,
Pectoral Sandpiper, Semipalmated Sandpiper; it was pretty much the same species
on both sides of the Marshall and Polk County line. I also stopped by to see
their new pollinator garden and found an Olive-sided Flycatcher (I also had one
along the Red River in East Grand Forks last week).

South of Agassiz, at the Brandt-Angus impoundment, there were basically all the
same shorebirds, but I also saw 3 Red-necked Phalaropes and several hundred
Sandhill Cranes coming in.
