Hi
My friend Russ and I drove down to Brownsville today to see what was there. We
stopped and looked for the Clarks Nutcracker in Winona at the houses where it
has been seen in the past. One lady who lived there was very kind to us said
that it had not been seen in four days. We looked for a bit but no luck.
Anyway on to Brownsville. There we saw quite a number of birds including many
Northern Pintail. At least 100 and Northern Shovelers. We saw several
hundred Wigeons, quite a few Green Winged and Blue Winged teal. Fifty or so
white pelicans, A Wilson’s snipe, Gadwall, Swans ( i think they were
trumpeters) Canada Geese in good numbers, and a couple of species that I have
yet to id. I’ll keep you posted if they turn out to be anything interesting.
Here is a link with some photos from my flickr account. Happy Birding to you
