On April 29th the 42nd annual Salt Lake Birding Weekend will take place in the
western Minnesota counties of Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine and Big Stone.
This event is free and open to all who are interested, no pre-registration is
needed. This is great family event and appropriate for birders at all levels of
experience. Meet on Saturday, April 29 at 7 AM at the Marietta American Legion
to join guided car caravans for tours of the best birding areas.
We will be seeing the end of the waterfowl migration and the start of the
shorebird migration. Every year unexpected and interesting birds can show up
such as Say's Phoebe, White-faced Ibis, Prairie Falcon, American Avocet or
Snowy Egret.
Please note that for this years chicken dinner at the Sons of Norway the price
has been increased to $12 per person, still a great bargain.
