Just wanted to let any potential Salt Lake birders know about Stone's Gate City
Lodge in Gary,
SD, which is a 25 minute trip south of Marietta. It's a 10-room lodge, very
comfortable, and
rooms are $45 per night. Some rooms have 2 or 3 beds. Call for reservations and
they leave
the key in the door for you.

Pretty quiet out here on the western front.

There's a Woodcock lek on the west end of Gary, beneath the oak savanna by the
West Branch
of the Lac qui Parle River. There have been 6 males displaying there each
night.

The same site is full of bluebirds right now.

Salamanders, gnats, and wood ticks are out and about.

Pasqueflowers should be opening by this weekend.
