Every few years it happens that there are large numbers of yellow-rumps in town at the same time the elm trees drop their seeds. This is one of those years, and there are dozens of yellow rumps on the streets in my neighborhood eating the seeds. it is really fun to see so many all at once, and fortunately, they seem to be pretty nimble at flying out of the way when a car comes.
