The Common Gallinule at Shepherd's Marsh in La Crescent was still present at 4 this afternoon, swimming just off the trail past the end of the road, about 50 feet past the No Motor Vehicles sign. I also observed some interesting feeding behavior from a Great Blue Heron, which was flying 15 feet over the water when it dove head-first and came up with a large bullhead.
