Regarding potential local shorebird habitat, there's at least one portion
of Braun sod farms that has productive wet-mud areas. It's on the west side
of county 3, just 4.5 miles north of Northfield; 3 is closed due to road
work just north of the site, so it is best reached from the south, through
Northfield. There was only a flock of Pectoral Sandpipers there this
afternoon, but other species could show up.
The river trail at Carleton Arboretum is also worth watching; it had a
small mixed flock of warblers foraging in the wooded section....and plenty
of mosquitoes for them to feed on!
