This morning Liz Harper and I found a mixed flock of thirteen crossbills
feeding in the white pines on the west side of the Vadnais Lakes parking
lot (the parking area between the two lakes, north of Vadnais Blvd.). Of
the thirteen birds, four were White-winged and the other nine were Red. Of
the Red, roughly six of the birds were type 4 and the remaining three were
type 2 (types confirmed via sonogram).
