Keith Olstad and I birded the area around Vermillion and Lake Byllesby in
Dakota County. Eighteen variety of water fowl including blue-phase and
white-phase (possible Ross's) geese, all there mergansers, happily a good
number of canvasback, and other 'usual suspects.' No pintails or ruddys,
or white-fronted geese. Others of interest white pelican and osprey. Our
best viewing of waterfowl was from the boat public access on the north
side of Byllesby.
