Around 6:45 a.m. (Monday 5/13) the adult male Bullock’s Oriole reappeared at my
home feeder. I was sitting at our dining room table and my wife, Risa, was in
the kitchen and we were visiting and she was looking towards our feeders when
she said that an Oriole had just landed on the feeders. I glanced over and lo
and behold it was the Bullock’s! It stuck around for about a minute and then
flew off. We live at 420 2nd Ave SW but we have a corner lot which intersects
with Linden St. SW. I will be at work today and everyone is welcome to try for
the bird but please don’t crowd it. You can easily view the feeders from your
car on the south side of Linden. It seems likely that this bird is making the
rounds of the neighborhood jelly feeders so it could just as easily to be seen
at the area around Maple St SW and 4th St SW that it had been frequenting.
