Gerry Hoekstra and I observed a first cycle California Gull at the Cottonwood WTP on 8/28/19. The bird was with Ring-billed Gulls, a single Forster's Tern and many Franklin's Gulls. Also seen at these ponds were six Red-necked Phalaropes. We made a second visit to this location later on that same day but the California and most of the Gulls had moved out.
