The 121st annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count starts on Monday (12/14) and
runs through January 5th, although there is only one count scheduled after
the 1st. Minnesota has 85 counts, of which 5 are cancelled due to Covid,
including 2 Wisconsin border counts. Two new counts in SW Minnesota are
Redwood Falls and Murray County.

Because of Covid induced restrictions, participation opportunities have
been severely reduced. Many counts, including most or all of those in the
Metro Area are full and not accepting new participants. Still, there are
many smaller rural counts that have openings and would welcome
participation.
