Hi Missy,

Our great nephew who is six is seriously interested in birds. While he couldn't
handle our binoculars, we took him to Barnes and Noble to let him choose a book
with the help of a clerk. At first he wanted Sibley, but the clerk pointed him
to a much smaller book (one of the kids guides), and showed him all the cool
things about that book. It was the one he eventually chose and he loved being
part of the process. There are lots of choices for kids. Can't remember if it
was a Peterson or National Geo, but it had a section with "Cool Facts." It is
so rewarding to see a child's love of birds.
