That would be amazing to see. Thanks for sharing, Steve. I saw a raft of 
thousand+ years ago off a cliff overlooking Lake Superior in the UP. That image 
is still with me today. It’s fascinating how they know how to do this.


Siskins started showing up here a week ago, but on Wednesday they arrived in 
droves. Must be at least 40 - best siskin numbers I’ve had in years. Hope they 
stay through the winter.

A few purple finches showed up with them, too. Junco numbers seem to be a bit 
lower than normal, 25+, but I had a hawk hanging out here the first few weeks 
of their arrival - they could have moved on.

I have a report that thousands of loons are staging on Lake Minnetonka. We
have a hoard of Pine Siskins at our feeders this morning. I haven't had a
view on how they were staging in the trees above the house to try to get a
handle on the numbers.
