On the east side of Grass Lake, off the trail running from Soo St. to Gramsie Rd. In Shoreview, I spotted two red headed woodpeckers at the cavity entrance at the left end of the broken-off, upper trunk of a dead tree laying horizontally across the adjacent dead trees against which it fell. It's west of the section of trail next to the pond adjacent to the Cardigan Junction rail yard to the east. (The trail runs between Grass Lake and the pond.)
