This morning I had 7 WHITE-FACED IBIS, four of them were in the flooded grassy
area just south of the intersection of 16 and 26, the other three were in the
original location viewed from the canoe launch. One of them at the canoe launch
has very little white around the face and the facial skin is fairly drab which
suggests Glossy Ibis, but I'm pretty sure I could see a red iris which would
make it another White-faced. Taking a right on Mt Tom Blvd after crossing the
Root River offered views of the flooded field that are not visible from the
canoe launch and yielded a MARBLED GODWIT and 10-15 FRANKLIN'S GULLS among the
Bonaparte's and Ring-billed. Continuing another 100 yards along the road there
is a pasture with horses that had 2 SNOWY EGRETS working the waterline.
