Just had an immature Northern Goshawk glide over the feeders in our backyard. It perched up in a nearby cottonwood and I could make out a very pale supercilium, heavy vertical brown streaking on breast and belly, relatively short wings at rest, pale greater coverts (visible in flight) and uneven barring on the long tail. I last saw it heading south towards Buffalo River State Park/Bluestem Prairie, roughly parallel to CR 113, so if you're birding in the area today keep an eye out for it. This is the second consecutive year I've seen an immature goshawk in this general area at about this time of year.
