Thanks! That fixed it.  I could run the reconf.sh script to rebuild
the configure scripts (which in turn made a new makefile).

I don't suppose many people will be building from source, but maybe it
would be nice to fix it in the SVN repo.

On a related note, is there anyone tracking the current trunk?  I
wouldn't mind volunteering to use current (provided the trunk doesn't
break too often) to help find bugs.  Or is there not much active
development going on in the trunk.

Mr. Farhat, thank you so much for your time and attention.  It's all
built (micq is broke, as you predicted) and running nicely.
