So we have Marc Hougardy, Brent Fulgham and Erick T. willing to contribute with Darwinports. I know Marc wanted to submit the ports after getting some feedback from people saying that installation was successful, but he didn't get many... we should improve the communication.

is any of the experienced hackers receiving the emails sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ?

cheers
Boris

Attached is some e-mail between me and one of the Darwinports guys. I had submitted ports to them a long while back, based on the CVS for Mozart, but now that the 1.3.2 sources build properly and Marc Hougardy has created a set of files to install I asked them to update to reflect his work.

The updates are now pending in the Darwinports tracking system, but I don't have Marc Hougardy's e-mail information and hope that he is not offended by the idea of merging his stuff into the main Darwinports archive so that it will be available natively.

Thanks,

I while back I started to put together a Portfile for the Mozart/Oz language (and ancillary libraries), but discovered that a core Mozart/ Oz member had already done so. Could they be integrated into the main Portfile archive so they would be available natively as part of Darwinports?

Brent,

Looks like [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> submitted these:

mozart/oz base portfile:

http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6826

mozart/oz stdlib portfile:

http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6827

But I see that recently a new version 1.3.2 is out. That is better since
tarballs are always preferred and I assume a CVS copy is no longer
necessary for OS X. Would you be willing to update these portfiles for
v1.3.2 tarballs and append the portfiles to the respective bug reports? If so it would be the easiest thing. Or I suppose you or I could note in
the bugs that newer versions are out and cc Erick if he'd like to update
them since it seems he'd like to be maintainer for them. But if it
requires no major changes I don't think it is a big deal for just a
version update and I often do that before comitting if a newer version
comes out before we get to it so we don't start off behind the times. Let
me know what you think.

Mark
