Dear Craig,
I cannot tell you anything about the OPI implementation. However, Oz
itself makes it relatively to 'remote control' the Oz compiler, e.g.
via a socket. For example, I wrote an Oz server application which is
fed arbitrary Oz source code from some client which may be some other
programming language environment (tested it successfully with Common
Lisp). In case you are interested I may post it to you offlist (this
application OzServer is part of my music composition system Strasheela:
http://strasheela.sourceforge.net).
Hope that helps.
Best,
Torsten
PS: Many people would be very grateful for an Oz Eclipse plugin...

Hello,
I have seen some mailing list traffic archived about interest in
the project of implementing Mozart/OZ in the Eclipse platform. I
think myself that this sounds like an interesting project. I am new
Mozart/OZ and to Eclipse, so I am sure the learning curve would be
steep. However, as a question of feasibility before I try to learn
these systems, how does Mozart/OZ "plugin" to Emacs (the OPI)? In
other words, if the OPI is the view, how does one "lookup" the code
that is the model/controller (using the MVC model)? Secondly, is it
possible to interface Java (the language of Eclipse) to the
model/controller code easily or would further work be needed?
Thirdly, I have a vision of making the Eclipse plugin for Mozart/Oz
amenable to people learning concepts from the Van Roy/Haridi book.
For example, showing how the kenel language executes on an abstract
machine (section 2.4.2). Could this be accomplished through the
Mozart/Oz debugger? Finally, I apologize if any of my terminology in
this posting has been "loose", but I am learning as I go and do not
claim to be an
expert.________________________________________________________________
