The second international conference on Knowledge Science, Engineering
and Management (KSEM'07) will be held in picturesque Melbourne,
Australia, 28-30 November 2007 at Novotel Melbourne on Collins. The aim
of this interdisciplinary conference is to provide a forum for
researchers in the broad areas of knowledge science, knowledge
engineering and knowledge management to exchange ideas and to report
state-of-the-art research results. Recent years saw the growing
importance of the synergism of knowledge science, engineering and
management to provide stronger support for complex problem solving and
decision making. KSEM aims at bridging the three areas and promoting the
synergism of them.
The technical program of KSEM’07 is featured with the following:

Semantic Desktop.
o Professor Lakhmi Jain, Knowledge-Based Intelligent Engineering Systems

of South Australia: Knowledge-Based Intelligent Engineering Systems in
Defense and Security.
o Professor John Debenham, Faculty of Information Technology, University
of Technology, Sydney, Australia: Building Relationships and Negotiating
Agreements in a Network of Agents.
o Professor W.B. Lee, Head of the Department of Industrial & Systems
Engineering, Director of the Knowledge Management Research Centre, The
Hong Kong Polytechnic University
o Professor Ning Zhang, Department of Computer Science and Technology,
Anhui University, China: Quotient Space Based Multi-granular Analysis

* Panel Discussion
o The synergism of knowledge science, engineering and management chaired
by Professor Eric Tsui from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

* Over 60 peer-reviewed papers in the conference proceedings published
by Springer.
