That was good timing!  I am just going through cleaning these up for
the Debian port (the warnings are new with gcc 4.2 and up).  When I
have finished I will send my diff to the hackers and I hope that
someone there will test it and apply it to subversion.

The warning is useful, but largely harmless for the moment ....
