Hi All,
Just wanted to share a neat little script I put together last week. The attached shell script "ozec2" can be used as a fork command for starting new Remote module managers. Instead of attaching to an existing remote machine, it spins up a new virtual machine instance on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/) and uses that. So those of us who don't have a compute cluster sitting around can now enjoy all the benefits of ParallelSearch just by doing: S = {New Search.parallel init(unit:6#ozec2)} Of course, you need to have an Amazon AWS account and the EC2 command-line tools installed. There's more details (and some simple timing tests) on my blog if you're interested: http://www.rfk.id.au/blog/entry/forking-ec2-instances-mozart-oz Cheers, Ryan -- Ryan Kelly http://www.rfk.id.au | This message is digitally signed.
