Hi,

I'm just trying to start exchanging signed and encrypted messages with
a friend.

I'm running Debian Mozilla 1.1-1, and I'm unable to send an encrypted
message to him, although the message security window for a composed
message says that I have a valid certificate for the recipient
address.

After a little googling and searching bugzilla I found Mozilla bug
139882 (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139882) which says
that "it is impossible to use a 512 bit key for encrypting a message".

How can I verify that this is the case? When I look at the certificate
of my partner in the Mozilla certificate manager I'm unable to see
anything about the strength of the certificate. When I look at the
message from that my Mozilla imported the certificate I can also not
see how strong it was encrypted.

Thanks
Stephan
