Hello, ive reported a bug within the mozilla PSM a few months ago, yet its still not recognized.
Summary : Any Email signed with a certificate generated by OpenSSL and using Cert Extensions will Crash the Client, as soon as you open the mail - the client will be closed - you are even unable to delete the email because everytime you are trying to - the browser will crash. This behavieur is the same for the old Netscape 4.x Clients.
