secclab is a mozdev project, not a mozilla project. It does not make use of any of the crypto in mozilla, AFAIK.
I am sorry, I only wanted to answer to a question published on this news group. SecClab is based on CMS mozilla interfaces. It is an individual initiative (published on mozdev).
The place to discuss secclab AFAIK is news://news.mozdev.org:119/public.mozdev.secclab
It will ask you for an account name and password. You can find that information at http://www.mozdev.org/mailing-lists.html
Yes, you are right. I hope developers would send their questions to this newsgroup.
Of course, since mozilla already generates/accepts CMS messages, one might ask why you're not using the code already in mozilla.
With SecClab you can implement form-signing feature on mozilla(like crypto.SignText netscape 4.X method). I am not sure, but I think this feature is not available yet.
