I think it's possible to just use the site as some kind of mirror/repository for relesed packages.
Shall I try to setup a publishing project? I need someone to be co-admin for this.

Unless there's a way to have sourceforge be nothing but a mirror of mozilla's repository, having two separate respositories for the source would fork the tree. Each branch/fork in the tree dilutes effort. Some people work on one, some on another. They spend extra effort thinking about how they've diverged, and trying to apply updates to both branches. This has already happened to NSS a couple times, and I really don't want to see it happen again.
I'm all for getting more developers involved, but not at the risk of forking the tree again. :(
OTOH, if sourceforge can be just a mirror for mozilla, it sounds good to me.
