I'm sure it's been posted before, however I was reading the following document (dated last march):

About how at the time there was over 9 million web servers, and only 112,000 ssl certificates, at the time only 28,000 of those were deemed "valid"...

28,000 out of 9,000,000... obviously host name mismatches could have also been valid but for the most part that was the case....

Almost 12 months later... we have almost 41,500 valid, out of 13,686,927... total of 162,000 SSL servers...
