You need to go into account settings for the account you are sending the e-mail from, then Security settings and select the 'default' certificate you want to be able to sign e-mails from that account with.
That seemed to work for me!
Of course!!! Thank you! I forgot to do this in Thunderbird. I obviously did it in my old Mozilla 1.6.
So another question - maybe you know the answer: How can I make Thunderbird to get recipient's certificate from LDAP server? It get's recipient mail but cannot get certificate (public key).
