I have a question concerning the LDAP attribute: createTimestamp

Does it "disappear" or gets removed when the record is modified?

I can find the "modifytimestamp" attribute on all the records,
but I can only find the "createTimestamp" on a much smaller population
(appearently, the ones that have not been modified).

Is there a way to keep LDAP from removing this "createTimestamp" attribute?

I am using Netscape Directory Server 4.1

Thanks.
