David and I originally had it in, but decided against it for a number of reasons -- in fact, precisely for the reasons you enumerate. I'm not sure that publicly encouraging people to shoot themselves in the foot (pardon the lousy number agreement there, 'k?) was exactly what we wanted to do with 1.0.
