For dhtml scripting with javascript I sought methods and properties in the "gecko dom reference" and in the "w3c dom documentation" i can't find many of them!
ex:
event.rangeParent
event.rangeOffset
TextAreaElement.selectionEnd
TextAreaElement.selectionStart
TextAreaElement.setSelectionRange()
...
Is the dom documentation incomplete? or this elements are in other documentation?
I believe selection scripting is supported, just don't know the syntax. Yes, the doc is incomplete. The original author, Ian Oeschger, is no longer an Netscape employee and no one has picked up on his work. The bug is http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93108

tks 4 the link, i'm very surprise about the doc is a one man work, i never imagined that!
no one update the doc today???
is another documentation existing?
if functionalities aren't documented, how would you use them?
if you spend 4 hours to find an information in the amazing quantity of documentation mozilla never goes interesting for web programmer! especially if 4 hours later you dont find the information because it isn't in the doc!
in my opinion documentation must be now a priority project for mozilla
excuse my cross-post
