Its a transparent background. I ran it off a server and it was transparent (i.e. the grey came through).

Bah i left the abosulte reference to mozilla.org, if i just use a copy of mozilla favico on my server, its still has a white background.

when i saved it to my desktop, i used infranview to move it, i did it by saving it to another directory, saving again as PNG. Doing so trashed transparency. My bad.
