Running mfcembed with debugger

I want to explore the embedding interface within
the debugger.
For that purpose I build Mozilla
with MOZ_DEBUG=1 and made a debug build of
mfcembed using Visual Studio.
When I try to run mfcembed I always hit a
user breakpoint which is being called because
"autoregistration" has failed.
Does anybody know what I'm missing?
Is there additional information available on
how to do a debug build?
