Global Media Reviews Drug and Alcohol Treatment as Healthcare's Next Wave of Growth.

Company Research and Due Diligence Prove That Treatment is Just Not as Available as it Should Be.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 2, 2002-- Founder of Global Media (Pink Sheets: GLMC), Michael Metcalfe has taken the time to look at several of the remaining Internet assets that are alive and well on the web, but could not find treatment for drugs or alcohol on the Internet unless you were actually willing to go.

There are many sites that list private as well as many public health care systems operating drug and alcohol treatment centers, but just try and get into one without waiting at the end of what is an already very long line up. The wait lists are so long and with the demand so high, it really makes one wonder if anyone there in the recovery services has enough staff to direct their time to actually improving what is there, and simultaneously treating people, amongst that kind of chaos.

Michael Metcalfe said today from ITM investments. ``The Sector is growing by the minute, however all the qualified personnel, are treating people and there is very little time, if any at all, to grow and or search for new space, beds, real estate, funds and or the actual clients. The industry and care for the treatment of addicts is quite often really self-run, as no one really volunteers for treatment, but is rather convinced by his or her peers or family that it must happen. Once that is decided, the clock really starts to run on their lives, and finding a treatment facility to help the patient discover their disease and the treatment of it, is the single most missing thing here in North America. It is the possibility to change the way you live that is really learned at these centers. I cannot think of, other than possibly world hunger or war, a place that needs more funding to help those who can not help themselves.''

The question for ITM investments is how to, and where to go and find, not just the money, but the space and where to start. Metcalfe said, ``Its in our own back yard, and if you really look at this for any length of time, the system now in place, if there is one, depends entirely on sober people that dedicate without selfish reason to help others. Its a phenomena as far as the people go, acting selflessly to help others but its not enough I'm afraid. It needs to revolutionize and build itself up and out differently from the old administration in place and into the admitting level, right on through to the people who actually perform, and work with the patients or addicts. The public money much like health care or biotech is there to fund these centers, but most of them are private and of course all those who are knowledgeable are being sought and there are few. I see only growth here for the next twenty years, unless there is some miraculous change in our universe. The company is committed to conducting due diligence on several existing facilities over the next few months that are all presently in revenue and growth stages.''

Michael Metcalfe is the President of ITM investments and founder of Global Media. Currently the company is attempting to reorganize itself and to settle with its creditors and outstanding debts through a Canadian trustee. The company filed voluntary bankruptcy on May 23 of 2001 but did not file bankruptcy in the State of Nevada where Global Media is currently domiciled. Mr. Metcalfe is the only officer or director in Global Media at the time and is currently serving and registered in the Nevada State Office of Company, as the Reorganization Officer and leader of Business Development. The company has identified at least two facilities of business, that do service the drug and alcohol field but are under non disclosure agreements.
