Dear List, I asked a question like this on n.p.m.xpfe and thought that this might be a better place:
I am scoping out a new open-source project for music analysis and typesetting, and I think that the Mozilla XUL/XPCOM architecture is probably the best architecture for this project... but: What I don't understand from the documentation and from poking around in the source files, however, is how one includes a non-Gecko window within XUL. For example, I want to write the UI-shell of the application using XUL/XBL, but the central display/editing window for music needs to be written in C++. I think that browser plugins and SVG would need the same kind of system, but I don't see how it is implemented. ** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ** ** Benjamin Smedberg, Director of Music ** ** St. Patrick's Church, Washington D.C. ** ** VOX 202-347-2713 x102 - FAX 202-347-1401 ** ** [EMAIL PROTECTED] ** ** "Soli Deo Gloria" ** ** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **
