Hi all,
I've got two questions using mfcembed.exe on Windows. For each Mozilla version like:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.7/
there are two binary releases: one is a .zip file (mozilla-win32-1.*.zip), which includes mfcembed.exe
and all the binaries. The other one is an "installable" binary (mozilla-win32-1.*-installer.exe), which installs
part of the binaries to C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE, and part of them to an user
specified directory.
For the .zip release, the included mfcembed.exe runs well under the unzipped directory, but if I move
it to any other directory, it won't work, no matter I set MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME to the mozilla binary
path or add the mozilla binary path to PATH. Then what's the setting to make it work outside of the
unzipped mozilla binary path?
The other question is that, why mfcembed.exe is not included in the "installable" binary, not in the
C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE directory, not in the user specified directory?
I ask these questions for I'm using a modified mfcembed.exe application. With the above problems,
I require the users to use the .zip mozilla release, and before using the application, it needs to be
copied to the mozilla binary path, which is quite annoying.
