Dan,
Just for your curosity borrow a Mac, install a Copy Netscape 6 with
Talkback included.
Make sure Talkback in operating order (not turned off) and setup. Now
sit back and notice how many type-2, type-3, and type-10 quits you will
experience when Talkback is operating and how many times Talkback locks
up your Computer.
There are some included extensions and other files, that are placed in
system Folder, to make Talkback work on Mac. There is a known conflict
with these items and system OS. The versions of these files are
identical be it for N6, or be it for Communicator. The company supplying
this technology for the Mac Platform has been told about this problem
(been conflicting with the system since OS 8.1) (we are now using 9.0.4)
yet no effort has been made to correct the conflicts.
Talkback on PC platform may be greater than sliced bread. But on Mac
Platform its been worse than pure H***. For PC owners it may work as
desired , but for Mac Users, my recomendation is open your N6 install
and remove Talkback folder, and Talkback and full circle items from
system asap before you open Netscape 6.
