Well, it depends on if you're talking about a hardware platform, software
platform, or the combination of the two, which USED to be a platform (eg.
Windows/Intel, MacOS/Motorola, etc.). Of course, in this case, the Linux
platform does Mac hardware, and x86 hardware (and more). The whole idea of
the term 'platform' is extremely flexible now...
